MTV’s music channels will remain available to the subscribers of M7 Group’s German TV platform Diveo after their switch-off on the Astra satellite system (19.2° East).
This is made possible by Diveo’s hybrid approach, which combines DTH satellite TV with internet TV, enabling the platform operator to offer the channels via IP streaming, replacing the satellite feeds.
MTV Rocks, MTV Dance and MTV Hits will be switched off on Astra on September 30, 2019. The pay-TV package MTV Unlimited, in which the channels were made available to DTH satellite households together with other channels from the parent company Viacom, will subsequently be closed.
Viewers in Germany will be able to receive MTV Rocks, MTV Dance and MTV Hits exclusively on the Diveo platform from October 1, 2019: They are offered together with MTV Music 24, VH1 Europe and VH1 Classic in the subscription packages Entdecker and Vielfalt.
The live-streams of MTV Rocks, MTV Dance and MTV Hits are already available. Diveo customers who can’t yet receive the channels are recommended to perform a channel search on the reception device.
With a total of 14 channels, Diveo provides the largest selection of music channels in Germany, according to M7.
