3SS shows next-gen Android TV solutions at IBC 2019

September 14, 2019 23.57 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German multiscreen software solutions provider 3 Screen Solutions (3SS) is focusing on its 3Ready product framework for Android TV at IBC 2019 which is being featured in Android TV showcases and next-generation TV demos by many exhibitors.

3SS (hall 15, MS10 and MS12) has been entrusted to deliver major next-gen set-top boxes powered by Android TV for operators including Com Hem, Canal Digital and Proximus as well as multiscreen projects for ProSiebenSat.1, Joyn, Super RTL and Blockbuster, among others. Additional international operator deployments will be announced shortly, according to 3SS.

“We are really excited that at IBC 2019, visitors from all around the globe will be able to see for themselves how with 3Ready, and all that Android TV has to offer, service providers can deliver powerful next-gen TV experiences to their viewers,” said Kai-Christian Borchers, managing director of 3SS.

This year, 3SS’ front-end user interface (UI) framework solution will be shown as reference Android TV custom launcher on many stands at IBC 2019. 3Ready will also be featured in Google’s live TV sports and dynamic ad insertion showcase as well as in the Google Assistant and Google Play Movies integration demos.

3SS will also publicly demonstrate for the first time its recently launched 3Ready Assistant, which enables maximum control and branding opportunities for Android TV via cloud integration. Furthermore, IBC visitors can try out 3Ready-enriched Technicolor audio wizard far-field voice assistance device, jointly devised with Technicolor, which makes searching for content hands-free.

3SS will also demonstrate for the first time the new solution for ultra-personal TV, a pre-integrated AI-based end-to-end platform developed with Media Distillery which offers comprehensive TV service personalisation and deep content search.

Kaltura and 3SS demo suites will feature the joint Kaltura TV platform with 3SS 3Ready UI framework solution which empowers operators to rapidly launch targeted and personalised cloud TV services. The solution brings together 3Ready with Kaltura’s cloud TV platform with its AI and machine learning-enabled targeted TV technology.

3SS will also be present at the IBC 2019 conference: Peter Szabo, department Lead UX/UI at 3SS, will speak on “Using machine learning and behavioural analysis for user-tailored viewer experience” at the “Tech Talk” session “How interfaces are getting to know their users” on September 16, 2019 between 09.00 and 10.15 CET in the forum.
