Ukraine’s National Council has issued a 10-year satellite broadcast licence to a cookery channel.
According to Telekritika, it will be known as Kus-Kus and produced by the Film.UA group of companies, with the licence being held by Zdorove TB.
It adds that the channel, which will an encrypted, paid-for service with no advertising, will be uplinked by SES Sirius Ukraine and distributed by Astra 4A.
The licence fee for Kus-Kus was increased by 30% to UAH524,000 (€18,768 ) due to the large number of foreign programmes it will carry, while the start up costs of the channel have been put at UAH2.6 million.
