Da Vinci expands in Turkey, South Africa and Asia

Educational family channel Da Vinci has expanded its global footprint through a number of new carriage deals in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Digiturk, Turkey’s largest digital platform, operating under the umbrella of beIN Media Group, has launched Da Vinci as part of their Digital Basic package. The channel’s family-friendly educational content will also be accessible via the beIN Connect app.

In South Africa, Da Vinci has partnered with Vodacom, the country’s leading cellular network provider, through the launch of a learning focussed on-demand proposition on Vodacom Play. Here, Da Vinci content is accessible through Vodacom’s micro packages, with subscriptions available daily, weekly, and monthly, priced at R5, R10, and R25, respectively.

In Korea, Da Vinci has launched a broad range of its kids programming with LG U+, among the top three pay-tv providers in the country, through its SVOD service Kids World.
This comes after several channel launches earlier this year, with Now TV in Hong Kong, Croatian Telekom, Sky Cable in the Philippines, Cell C’s Black in South Africa, and OTT platform Vidio in Indonesia.

Da Vinci’s Managing Director, Ferdinand Habsburg, commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with leading platforms across progressive markets, and to provide families and communities in these regions with meaningful educational programming.”

Da Vinci is operated by Da Vinci Media, an independent media company based in Berlin, Germany. With its ‘no violence’ policy, Da Vinci creates a safe and positive environment for younger viewers. The channel broadcasts a number of award-winning programs, including Operation Ouch, Science Max, Look Kool, Siesta Z, and Xploration DIY SCI
