The Polish public broadcaster TVP has confirmed that its newest channel TVP Wilno will officially be launched on September 17.
Speaking at the 29th Economic Forum in Krynica Zdroj, TVP executives and members of the government said that the channel will be broadcast in Lithuania and aimed at the Polish minority living in specific regions of the country, as well as all inhabitants in those regions interested in Polish culture, history and current affairs.
TVP Wilno’s schedule will initially consist of programming from TVP Polonia, as well as content produced specifically for viewers living in Lithuania.
In her comments on the new channel, TVP board member Marzena Paczuska said: “We want TVP Wilno to strengthen the sense of identity of Poles living in Lithuania. Our goal is also to develop friendly Polish-Lithuanian relations. It will be the channel that connects”.
