SmartLabs is now implementing Low Latency Streaming in its SmartMedia solution, which is an ad-hoc media server for encoding, recording, storing and delivering content on demand.
Low-latency support will also be added to various devices including Linux and Android STB, smart TV and iOS/Android mobile devices.
Several existing SmartLabs customers from Europe have already scheduled their trials of Low Latency Streaming for the end of this year.
SmartLabs CEO Mikhail Grachev said: “Low Latency Streaming is the technology that will significantly improve the OTT live broadcast experience. It demands major revisions to every component of the OTT solution, including Encoder, CDN and player and we plan to offer our existing and future customers this solution in the nearest future.”
SmartLabs will be at booth 14, C01 at IBC 2019.
