Orange has become the second major French operator to cease the retransmission of Altice-owned channels.
In a move first reported by Satellifax BFM TV was removed at 9.06 CET this morning followed by BFM Business, RMC Story, before RMC Découverte faded out at 9.20.
An on screen message on the channel previously occupied by BFM told viewers that Altice had decided to “profoundly change” the distribution conditions for the channels that can still be received free-to-air over the French DTT (TNT) network.
Like Free, which has not relayed the Altice channels for almost two weeks, Orange would be willing to enter negotiations that covered new on demand services, but not the linear channels themselves.
Orange’s existing agreement to Altice was due to expire at the end of September.
Altice has agreements in place with Bouygues Telecom, Canal + and SFR.
