Spain ended June with almost 9.4 million FTTH lines, according to data published by the regulator CNMC.
This was 1.8 million more than a year earlier, with the total increasing by almost 122,000 in June alone.
Meanwhile, the number of DSL lines fell by 1.3 million in the year to June 30.
As of the end of June, the three leading operators – Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono) – accounted for 87.5% of the fixed broadband lines in Spain.
Movistar (39.96%) was the market leader, followed by Orange (26.4%), Vodafone (21.13%) and Masmovil (8.11%), with other operators (4.39%) claiming the remainder.
