Russia’s MTS has acquired a 100% stake in United Film Studios, which owns the St Petersburg-based Kinopolis complex, for R2.042 billion (€27.6 million).
Kommersant reports that the vendor was Business Realestate, a subsidiary of the MTS-AFK Sistema shareholder Vladimir Yevtushenkov.
It adds that the film studio will now come under the control of MTS Media, which groups together MTS’s satellite, IPTV cable and mobile TV operations, and will in the future produce content for the company.
