Zattoo has launched a cloud-based progressive web app for its TV streaming service.
The web app allows users to access Zattoo through a standard internet browser on any device, from desktop PC, laptop, tablet and smartphone to smart TV, TV box and TV stick. A native app does not have to be downloaded.
For quick access, the web app can be saved on the home screen and started with a click.
According to Zattoo, the web app offers up to seven times faster loading, improved image and streaming quality and simplified channel switching compared to the previous web player.
There are also additional functions such as a picture-in-picture mode, revamped recording area and comprehensive personalisation options, including individually structured and categorised recordings.
Users can choose between three different player modes (split/cinema/full screen) and switch between list and map display when browsing content.
The layout adapts responsively to the screen and window sizes.
