GoMedia has secured its first spoken word deal, agreeing with Audible to provide its audio programming to Greyhound Buses.
Greyhound bus passengers in North America will be able to listen to dozens of Audible books through the operator’s GoMedia-developed onboard platform as they travel across the US and into Mexico and Canada.
Roger Matthews, managing director, GoMedia, says: “Audiobooks are experiencing explosive growth worldwide, with numbers sold doubling between 2013 and 2018.* Alongside Audible we’re extremely proud to mark our first spoken word deal, enabling Greyhound Buses to create enjoyable experiences for its passengers with a range of complementary Audible books, enriching the world-class film and TV content currently available.”
Todd Koch, vice president of strategy, marketing and consumer engagement at Greyhound, added: “With more than 16 million people travelling to over 2,400 destinations on Greyhound, we’re always looking for new ways to improve our passenger experience.”
Audible will launch on Greyhound Buses this autumn. In addition to Audible books, passengers also now have access to a dedicated film section on their portal where Greyhound Buses is the star.
