nc+ to buy Kino Swiat

August 15, 2019 06.31 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

ITI Neovision, the operator of the Polish DTH platform nc+, has agreed to buy a 70% stake in Kino Swiat, the country’s leading film distributor.

As a result of the deal, the financial details of which have not been disclosed, nc+ will distribute Kino Swiat’s library, which consists of over 2,000 hours of cinema and TV movies (1,200 titles).

Kino Swiat was founded in 2001 and is also a film producer and co-producer.

In addition, it operates the most popular YouTube movie channel in Poland, with 40 million views, and the most popular Facebook movie page, with over half a million users.

The transaction requires the permission of the Polish competition authority UOKiK.
