Canal+ gained 45,000 subscribers in the French market over the last 12 months, but it wasn’t enough to sustain the French paycaster’s domestic turnaround as the overall subscriber base lost ground.
Canal+ Group’s revenues amounted to €2,518 million, compared to €2,575 million for the first half of 2018.
International operations generated increased revenues thanks to the growth in the subscriber base mainly because of the broadcasting of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Canal is currently consulting on a transformation plan that could lead to 492 voluntary redundancies.
