EvoTV helps Hrvatski Telekom grows TV base

The Croatian incumbent Hrvatski Telekom (HT) ended the second quarter with 490,000 TV customers, or 18% more than in the same period last year.

At the same time, TV ARPU grew by 1.6% to HRK85 (€11.5).

In its latest results, HT notes that Optima Telekom’s non-financial KPIs were not integrated into its results due to limited access to Optima Telekom’s information. This was because of a ‘Chinese wall’ introduced by the regulator.

However, the acquisition of the pay-DTT operation EvoTV contributed to HT’s group TV revenues and customer base.

Meanwhile, 227,000 households and 30,000 business users had opted for HT’s Magenta 1 service as of the end of June.

HT’s total revenues in Q2 amounted to HRK1,772 million, or 2.6% more than a year earlier. EBITDA was HRK713 million (-5.2%) and net profit HRK267 million (-5.2%).

Yet despite this, in the half year its net profit was 3.4% higher than in 2018.
