Deutsche Telekom-backed OTE is set to receive up top four bids for its majority stake in Telekom Romania.
Ziarul Financiar reports that they are Orange, the market leader in the local telecom market; RCS&RDS, the country’s leading provider of fixed-line cable and internet services; and two from what it describes as the “former Soviet space”.
It adds that the latter include one represented by the Bulgarian entrepreneur Spas Roussev.
Talks are being undertaken exclusively with OTE/Telekom, with the Romanian state, currently a minority shareholder, not involved.
OTE/Telekom are keen to leave the Romanian market and sign an agreement by the end of August.
