The Polish national transmission company Emitel will show live friendly matches being played by Legia Warsaw on its channel via HbbTV technology.
The matches, against Viktoria Plzen, Red Bull Bragantino and Universitatea Craiova and scheduled from June 26 for one week, will be shown in HD (720p) and streamed live OTT to connected TV sets with HbbTV 1+.
Thanks to virtual channel technology the content will be easily accessible from the channel list, zapping or the numeric selection of Legia TV (Channel 89).
Emitel notes that it provides a range of HbbTV services for consumers and broadcasters to add value to the basic terrestrial live TV experience.
They include virtual channels with display advertising, participation TV suite, rich content EPG, VOD portal and audio streaming, with timeshift, advertising and T-commerce in the pipeline.
It also says that DTT penetration stands at 37%.
