Maciej Szwarc has been appointed the president of Abstra, the leading producer of YouTube videos in Poland.
The position has up until now been held by Robert Pasut, who has assumed the newly created role of strategic director of content. Szwarc has been with Abstra since 2017 and was the chairman of the supervisory board since November 2018.
Commenting on his appointment, Szwarc said: “When I joined Abstra almost 2 years ago, I did not expect that in a dozen or so months the company would develop at such a dizzying pace. During this time, we have opened 9 new channels, including two implemented entirely with large commercial partners. We have created the popular format “Straight in Szczene “for Onet.tv, and our revenues increased by 250% during the year. In the coming months, we want to focus on further expanding the content segment, in which we can create valuable program content, reaching the key group 13-30. We’re already a YouTube leader in content production. We do not remain indifferent to the trends that already settle in our market, so we plan to expand also to other platforms”.
Pasut added: “After founding Abstra in 2016, I assumed the post of the president because of the three (co-founders of) Abstrachuje.tv I’m the oldest. This feature is of course ennobling, but I find myself much better at activities related to creation and channel strategies from our already diversified portfolio. Maciej Szwarc is a man with rich experience, a bit older than us, who has a lot of knowledge about broadly understood business. Together with Czarek Jozwik and RafalMasny, we trust him very much and I am convinced that he will manage his new role perfectly well”.
