Vyacheslav Murugov has been appointed the president of Russia’s NMG Studios.
He will combine his new position with the management of CTC Media and the CTC channel, as well as with the position of the deputy general director for entertainment broadcasting National Media Group (NMG).
Murugov will expand the presence of NMG in the TV, cinema and internet content production market. His responsibilities also include launching products for the international market.
NMG Studios was created by NMG in October 2018 for investment in content. Earlier this year it closed a deal to acquire 50% of Art Pictures Studio.
NMG is the largest private media holding in Russia and its assets include several terrestrial TV channels and a blocking stake in Channel One.
It also distributes a number of leading international TV channels, including Discovery, Eurosport and Fox.
