Eleven Sports appoints Massimo D’Amario as Head of Business Development

June 12, 2019 19.56 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Eleven Sports has appointed Massimo D’Amario as Head of Business Development and Sponsorship in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Massimo D’Amario joins Eleven from Proximus,– where he was Managing Director of Proximus Media House.

At Proximus, Massimo was responsible for rights acquisition, sports strategy and the production of all sports channels. He played a key part in positioning Proximus Sports in the Belgian market through very strong local and international rights such as the Jupiler Pro League and UEFA Champions League.

Officially joining Eleven Sports on August 1, D’Amario will replace Guillaume Collard who was appointed as Managing Director of Eleven Sports in Belgium and Luxembourg in April. Collard is combining this new role with his position as Head of Acquisitions for the Eleven Sports Group.

In his new role, Massimo D’Amario will explore new business opportunities and assist the Managing Director with content strategy, the acquisition of new rights, commercial partnerships and sponsorship strategy.

“Massimo is vastly experienced in the sports media industry and brings very strong expertise in several key business areas. This appointment highlights Eleven Sports’ ambition in Belgium and Luxembourg,” said Guillaume Collard, Managing Director of Eleven Sports in Belgium and Luxembourg.

“By welcoming Massimo to our team, we are we are very well placed to build on the strong foundations we have already built in Belgium and in the international sports market.”

“I am very happy to join the Eleven Sports team and I am excited to help the development of this young and dynamic team with my experience and positive energy,” said Massimo D’Amario.

“My aim is to grow and diversify Eleven Sports’ revenue streams, strengthening Eleven’s position in the Belgian market and building on the excellent work that has already been done.”
