German free-to-air entertainment channel Anixe will adopt the new name Anixe+ on July 1, 2019, add new programmes and launch a video-on-demand (VOD) service accessible via its red button catch-up TV portal (HbbTV).
New to the programme line-up are, for example, US series Anger Management with Charlie Sheen, German crime series SK Kölsch and Ein Bayer auf Rügen as well as action series Helicops.
Anixe will replace the current SD distribution of Anixe on all platforms, broadcasting in improved resolution (HD-ready/720p). The SD distribution will continue only on the cable network of Vodafone Deutschland.
The free-of-charge VOD service, which will mainly comprise movies, will suggest content customised to the viewer’s interests. For this purpose, a user profile is created in connected TV households based on VOD viewing habits.
Sister channel Anixe HD Serie will keep its name and resolution (1080i).
