Liberty Global’s UPC Romania saw its losses double to RON247 million (€52 million) in 2018.
At the same time, according to Ziarul Financiar, quoting data published by the country’s Ministry of Finance, its debts increased by 3% to RON1.1 billion.
Meanwhile, UPC Romania’s net revenues in 2018 amounted to RON665 million, or 6% more than a year earlier. It added 35,000 new subscribers in 2018, with the number of RGUs increasing by 2%.
However quoting Liberty Global data, Ziarul Financier also points out that UPC Romania’s customer total fell to 966,000 in 2018.
UPC Romania, along with its sister CEE operations in the Hungary and the Czech Republic, is currently in the process of being sold to Vodafone by Liberty Global. A decision on the deal is expected by the European Commission this summer.
