Digi Kft, the Hungarian subsidiary of Digi Communications, has launched a mobile service on its own network.
As a result, its fixed-mobile offer has become similar to that of its sister company RCS&RDS in Romania, providing customers with fixed telecom services (cable TV, fixed internet and fixed telephony), mobile (telephony and mobile data) and satellite TV (DTH).
Digi Mobil employs 4G but at the same time also used 2G for compatibility with existing phones for voice services. It also plans to introduce 5G in the future.
Digi Kft is the leading provider of cable TV services in Hungary and also owns one of the country’s most modern fibre-optic networks.
Last May it completed the acquisition of Invitel, Hungary’s leading alternative telco.
