Netflix is by far the most popular VOD service in France with a 57.3% of users report having watched a programme on the platform, an increase of 11.3%. Orange is runner-up, with only 19.1%(-2.6%), followed by MyTF1 VOD with 18.5% (+0.4%).
Watching on-demand is gaining popularity among French viewers: the number of people who said that they viewed at least one program ames part of a subscription video offer increased in March by 4.6% over one year to 18.4%, according to the CNC’s monthly barometer of video on demand. 11.6% of them consumed content for rent (-1.2 points) and 6.1% purchased content (-0.2%).
The French viewers seem to favour American fare: the Top 10 of the most viewed programmes are all originating from the US.
