ANGA COM: What I want to hear

May 16, 2019 13.19 Europe/London By Julian Clover

During the show cycle, which sort of runs in periods of about two years, there are products that get mentioned at almost every stopping off point on the route. Right now it’s a combination of voice control and artificial intelligence that gets the attentention.

But how will the German market react to the innovation? In the country that exports the BMW and Mercedes Benz, the TV tastes are somewhat different, for years ignoring pay-TV. And as I learnt at last year’s ANGA COM, Germany is also the country where you are more likely to have Amazon Prime than Netflix.

And what about the regulators who gave us rules that for years prevented operators from offering a box with a hard drive inside it? How will they react to the gathering of the data that is needed to make these products function?

These factors will make ANGA COM’s conference areas and exhibition halls just as lively.
