Poland’s Cyfrowy Polsat gained around 300,000 more multiplay customers and over 500,000 additional contract services in the year to March 31.
At the same time, its churn remained at a record low of 7.2%.
Latest results published by the company show that it ended Q1 with a total of 16,973,770 RGUs, or 2.4% more than a year earlier. It had 5,077,221 pay-TV contracts (+1.9%), of which 1,167,983 (+4.8%) were multiroom.
The group’s revenues in Q1 amounted to PLN2,792 million (€647.9 million), or 19% more than in the corresponding period last year, with EBITDA at PLN1,038 million (+4%) and net profit PLN300 million.
In its comments on the results, Cyfrowy Polsat notes that it launched new attractive offers to the market in the first quarter. They included fixed-line internet access from Plus and cable TV based on IPTV technology, along with the new Evobox IP set-top box.
These all helped to strengthen the group’s multiplay strategy.
