German video-on-demand (VOD) provider Pantaflix wants to add an ad-supported free-of-charge service and a subscription-based service to its current transactional model of offering movies and series.
With the expansion, the company wants to open up new revenue sources and reach new customer groups in the growing VOD market. At the same time, content partners will gain more flexibility in monetising their content, according to Pantaflix.
No information was given on the timetable for the introduction of the new distribution models.
