Telefónica Group ended the first quarter with a total of 8.8 million pay-TV customers in the markets it serves, or 3% more than a year earlier.
In its home market Spain, Telefónica had revenues of €3,108 million in Q1, up 0.3% year-on-year. Meanwhile, OIBDA stood at €1,350 million (+10.3% reported).
In Germany, Telefonica had revenues of €1,779 million (+0.7%) with OIBDA amounting to €522 million (+29.5% reported).
In its latest set of results, the company notes that it has launched further value-added initiatives in Germany to enhance its ARPU-up and churn-down strategy. This includes O2 TV (from May 2), O2 Cloud (from April 8) and O2 VDSK (from March 7).
Telefonica Group as a whole had revenues of €11,979 million in Q1 (-1.7% reported) and OIBDA of €4,264 million (+10.3% reported) in Q1.
Its net income was €926 million, or 10.6% more than a year earlier.
