QYou Media expands in Poland

May 8, 2019 09.41 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

QYou Media’s Polish arm Q Polska has entered into a partnership with player.pl, one of the country’s leading OTT platforms.

As a result, it will bring eight new shows to player.pl. Four will be produced by Q Polska, in partnership with the European multichannel network Mediakraft. Known as Topowa Armia, Lejdis, Waksy and Wlodek and Markowicz, they are currently among Poland’s top YouTube channels, with more than 24 million combined monthly views.

Q Polska has also created four brand new themed shows, – Muzyka, Niezwykle wyzwania, Odkrywcy and Komedia – which are based on its extensive knowledge of what type of content young Polish viewers are actively seeking out online.

Commenting on the partnership with Q Polska, Maciej Gozdowski, MD of player.pl, said: “Millennials and Gen-Zs make up a significant number of our audience, so it is essential that we can bring the creativity and dynamism of internet culture to our service. We chose Q Polska because they have their finger on the pulse about what’s trending and entertaining for young Polish audiences, and can turn content that’s hugely popular online into longer TV-like programming.”

Curt Marvis, CEO, and co-founder of QYOU Media, added: “Younger audiences in Poland are always seeking out the very best of online video content, which is why we have been rapidly growing our presence in the region. Player.pl is the region’s number one OTT service, providing the perfect platform for us to increase our reach.

“We couldn’t be more excited for Player.pl audiences to see the shows we have been developing with Mediakraft. They are fun, fresh and shine a light on the very best of Poland’s viral video culture.”

Q Polska was launched in 2018 and is the first QYou Media channel fully localised for a European market. It made its debut on Play Now, Play Poland’s OTT service, and was most recently also made available on Toya’s TV service and via the Toya Go mobile app.

Player.pl has an audience reach of over 5.5 million.
