Huawei is plan to release the world’s first 5G TV for release before the end of 2019.
The TVs will be fitted with a module for 5G reception and will also feature an 8K resolution display.
According to Nikkei Asian Review, Huawei is keen to complete its ecosystem of consumer electronics that already reaches from smartphones through to wearables.
Using 5G would bypass the traditional route for television delivery, effectively producing a set that is completely reliant on over-the-top delivery and powered by a superfast delivery.
In addition to 5G base stations, Huawei has already revealed a 5G foldable smartphone and several home-use 5G routers that will be available later this year.
The 4K sets continue to prove popular with consumers, despite an apparent lack of 4K content to display on them.
