Orange Polska ended Q1 with a total of 958,000 TV customers, up from 875,000 a year earlier.
Of these, 455,000 (359,000 in Q1 2018) were IPTV and 503,000 (515,000) satellite. B2C convergent accounted for 758,000 of the total.
Orange Polska’s revenues in Q1 amounted to PLN2,778 million (€646.7 million), up 2.6% on a year earlier, while EBITDA stood at PLN643 million (-2.4%). It also had a loss of PLN2 million in Q1.
Significantly, the company’s fibre network now reaches over 3.5 million households, or almost 25% of the country’s total, with the figure standing at close to 50% in major cities (100,000+ population). Its fibre customer base passed 400,000 at the beginning of April.
Meanwhile in Romania, Orange Home TV’s cable and satellite service ended Q1 with over 519,000 customers, or 24% more than a year earlier. At the same Orange Romania’s fixed broadband customer total rose by 44.6% to 303,600 and the total number of mobile, fixed and TV customers stood at 10,693,300, up 2.3% on a year earlier.
The company’s turnover in Q1 fell by 2% to €265 million, mainly due to a change in interconnection tariffs for mobile voice calls and a slight drop in equipment sales.
