Anyone interested in attending a rewarding industry event in Central and Eastern Europe should look no further than the Webit. Digital Entertainment & Media Summit (DEMS).
Part of the annual Webit. Festival Europe, the second edition will take place at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia between May 13-15 and again include the participation of Broadband TV News.
The conference part of the event will get under way on May 14 with keynotes by Stanislav Georgiev, the chairman of DEMS, followed by Thierry Fautier, the president of the UHD Forum. These will be followed by a panel discussion on pay-TV operators and telecoms and whether their current distribution models are sustainable. It will include the participation of senior executives from M7 Group, Volia and Orange.
There will then be two consecutive fireside chats, the first on Timeless Drama Channel and second on how to create cutting-edge Millennial content. Subsequent sessions will include a keynote entitled Discovery beyond Meta data; panel discussion on the evolution of thematic linear TV, featuring leading executives from Viasat World, Marc Dorcel and Discovery; Esports and 5G.
Meanwhile, Day 2 of the conference will start with a panel on superaggregation, featuring leading executives from Big Picture, du, Swisscom TV and TiVo. It will be followed by another panel, on content acquisition and with the participation of key executives from Telekom Hungary, Telekom Slovenije and One Vip Macedonia.
Subsequent sessions will include a fireside chat on launching a music streaming app; keynote on YouTube content monetisation; and panel discussions on TV measurements and targeted advertising, as well as demystifying UHD HDR delivery.
