Konstantin Kamenarov, the DG of the Bulgarian public broadcaster BNT, is expected to vacate his post this week.
According to Capital, this follows the Sofia District Court finally finding him guilty of drunk driving.
An imprisonment of one year and three months is absolute grounds for dismissal by the Electronic Media Council (CEM).
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Kamenarov’s trial was previously postponed on a number of occasions and his mandate was due to officially end this summer.
He committed the offence on June 23, 2016.
