Version 2019-1 of the HbbTV Conformance Test Suite released

April 8, 2019 09.12 Europe/London By Robert Briel

The HbbTV Association has announced the release of a new version of the HbbTV Conformance Test Suite.

The new version is called v2019-1; it is the first major release of the Test Suite in 2019 and the first one to cover the UHD (Ultra HD) and NGA (Next Generation Audio) features included in the latest version of the specification (HbbTV 2.0.2). In detail, the release contains new tests for AC-4, MPEG-H and HFR. It also includes tests related to the HbbTV OpApps independent specification, and now comprises a total of 2,274 test cases. This is an increase of 128 tests over the previous version v2018-3 of the Test Suite.

“The release of the new version of the HbbTV Conformance Test Suite illustrates our commitment to providing device manufacturers with an effective, constantly updated tool to verify compliance of their products with the most current HbbTV specifications and its latest new features. We trust this will help them to quickly and smoothly bring compliant products to consumers’ homes, so that consumers can fully enjoy the rich services proposed by broadcasters and platform operators,” said Vincent Grivet, Chair of the HbbTV Association.

The HbbTV Conformance Test Suite is available to anyone through one of the registered HbbTV test centres. Members may have the additional convenience of access in their own facility.
