Deutsche Telekom has added two more HD channels and seven additional foreign language channels to its cable TV package for the German housing industry.
Customers can now receive ARD-alpha HD and Radio Bremen TV HD as well as the foreign-language channels UA | TV (Ukrainian), Rudaw TV HD (Kurdish) and Posavina TV (Bosnian) as free-to-air services. In total, Telekom now offers 41 channels in 22 languages for foreign citizens.
The cable customers can also choose between 10 different foreign language pay-TV packages.
“The expansion of international programme content is a high priority for us, as German is not the native language of many of our customers,” said Guido Schwarzfeld, head of product management at Deutsche Telekom’s Competence Center Housing Industry. “With our expanded channel portfolio, we now have the most comprehensive range of foreign languages available nationwide on cable television – both in terms of the number of channels and the variety of languages.”
In total, the German telco’s basic cable TV service now comprises up to 253 free-to-air digital TV and radio channels, including an Ultra HD channel and up to 48 HD channels.
Deutsche Telekom intends to further expand the offer in the coming years.
