Politician, football mogul and property tycoon Jesús Gil is the subject of a new non-fiction series being produced in Spanish by HBO Europe.
El Pionero (The Pioneer) tells the story of one of the most fascinating and divisive public personas of the last few decades. The story of colourful life is told through extensive archive images, never-seen-before personal material and exclusive interviews with key people who were close to him.
Produced by JWP (Muerte en León), directed by Enric Bach and scripted by Bach and Justin Webster, the series will premier later this year.
