Netflix is to open a new office in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
The streamer has established the company Los Gatos Streaming Services Belgium, a subsidiary of Netflix International BV, and named after the location of its Silicon Valley headquarters.
Belgian daily L’Echo reported the new office will focus on marketing, business development and public relations.
It’s proximity to the European Parliament suggests that lobbying will also be high up its agenda.
Two years ago, Belgian Wallonia was the beneficiary of €2 million of Netflix cash through the investment fund Wallimage for the film The Most Assassinated Woman in the World. It has also worked with the public broadcaster VRT.
Netflix has European offices in Amsterdam, Paris and London, and has established a production base in Spain.
