A new OTT sports channel wants to offer greater visibility and exposure to Spanish sport.
LaLigaSportsTV has launched for mobile phones, tablets and Samsung Smart TV.
LaLiga wants to support Spanish federations by creating an environment through which they can reach their fans.
“The objective is to give more and better visibility to non-majority sports, through a platform of quick and easy access to content, so that the fan can enjoy his favourite sport whenever, wherever and however he wants,” explained LaLiga’s president Javier Tebas.
Sports included are motoring, badminton, basketball (LEB Gold), handball (ASOBAL League), billiards, boxing and of course football. Content is set by the users themselves with a view to using algorithms to learn viewer preferences.
Content on the platform is free, with the exception of LaLiga itself, which is priced at an annual €14.99 per year.
