The Czech DTH and IPTV operator Digi TV will make the channels Viasat History, Viasat Nature and Viasat Explore available in HD from April 1.
According to the company, the channels are already provided to customers in the basic programme package. It adds that those who opt for its basic DTH service can already watch 33 HD channels, while those who subscribe to the basic IPTV offer can receive over 10 more in the format.
Commenting on the development, Iveta Slapalova, director of customer services at Digi TV, said: “Expanding the number of HD TV channels is one of our customer service strategies. This year, we would like to reach up to 70 channels in HD on TV over the internet, which is not unrealistic, because after the change we have already made, we already offer 62 of the 112 total in the Maxi package. However, we are also increasing the number of HD channels for our satellite customers, who are currently offered 43”.
