The Czech DTH and internet TV operator Digi TV has introduced a new product that will allow viewers to “elegantly solve the transition to the new DVB-T2 standard”.
Known as Smart Antenna, it offers viewers up to 70 TV channels for a monthly payment of CZK100 (€3.9) with a two-year contract.
Furthermore, since the channels are delivered over the internet, there is no need to buy new DVB-T2 set-top boxes or TV sets.
Viewers can also benefit from such features as seven-day catch-up, a wide variety of HD channels and being able to skip ads, as well as watch on up to four devices, anywhere in the Czech Republic or the rest of the EU.
Commenting on the new product, Iveta Slapalova, director of Digi TV customer services, said: “At Digi TV, we view the internet as a television antenna of the future. The transition to television over the internet is simple and offers services and comfort that viewers cannot see through the traditional antenna.
“In particular, a seven-day broadcast archive that exempts TV viewers from being addicted to television programmes, it means a great qualitative shift. At the same time, audiences will receive twice as many TV channels as opposed to terrestrial television.”
