DAZN launches in Spain

March 1, 2019 10.27 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The global live and on demand sports streaming service DAZN has made its debut in Spain.

Available for €4.99 a month, with the first month free and no long-term contract, it offers users multiple live events at any one time and on nearly every device, including TVs, tablets, phones, PCs and games consoles. Spain has become the eight market in which DAZN is available, having already launched in Japan, Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2016, Canada in 2017 and the US in 2018. It is also currently streaming on social media in Brazil before launching in the coming months.

Commenting on the launch in Spain, Simon Denyer, CEO, DAZN Group, said: “This is the dawn of a new era for Spanish sport fans as they join the revolution of flexible, accessible and affordable sport that we are rolling out around the world. Spain is a nation of sport lovers and they are ready for change. They want a better way to watch and we are incredibly proud to be making that happen as we expand our rapidly growing international business.”

Veronica Diquattro, EVP, Southern Europe, DAZN, added: “We said we were going to bring an exciting, flexible and affordableway to watch the best sport in Spain, and today we’ve done exactly that.

“This is just the start of our journey so our compelling price point reflects that. We will continue to build our portfolio of sports and when we add significant premium content fans should expect that to be reflected in our price, whilst always maintaining our approach ofmaking sport more affordable and accessible. DAZN continues to work
with the biggest stars, so I’m also delighted to announce two new ambassadors, megastars of sport: Neymar Jr and José Mourinho who will also feature in original content on the platform. This is a euphoric moment and we can’t wait to get started.”
