Eurosport is to allow audiences to skip through full-length adverts on its free digital platform Eurosport.com and the Eurosport app.
The initiative, which went live on Tuesday, gives visitors to Eurosport’s digital platforms the opportunity to skip pre-roll ads on free content after six seconds. The feature is not available on the Eurosport Player.
David Fisher, VP Digital Ad Sales, is looking to encourage advertisers and their agency to create ads that run for less than six seconds: “We hope our advertisers take on the challenge of delivering great six second copy – but if only a 30 second ad will do, having the skip functionality enabled and putting our users first can only be beneficial to our advertising partners.”
Launched in 1999, Eurosport.com has 2.1 million unique daily visitors with over 24.5 million video views each month.
