February 26, 2019 12.08 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Poland’s second largest cable operator Vectra has become the first provider in the country to make 4K services available on both its fixed and mobile services.

According to Vectra, they are accessible through its new 4K decoder and in the case of its digital TV offer consist of Eleven Sports 1 4K (in the Eleven package) and Ultra TV 4K and FunBox UHD (Platinum package). It adds that in addition to linear channels the new decoder gives access to Vectra’s VOD service, which includes Ultra HD content.

Meanwhile, Vectra’s TV Online service will from February 27 be able to watch Eleven Sport 1 in 4K. The TV Everwhere service, which Vectra says is the most comprehensive on the Polish market, consists of 138 channels that can be received at home and 124 outside, with many being in HD.

Commenting on the development, Tomasz Zuranski, chairman of the board at Vectra, said: “I am convinced that the Vectra’s home-mobile offer, reinforced with 4K technology, will be appreciated by customers. Every day we closely observe changing trends. We perceive and understand the needs of customers who want to enjoy the modern benefits of the digital world. Our goal is to make these solutions available to subscribers at their fingertips, wherever they are and when they want”.

Existing customers who exchange their PVRs can obtain the new 4K decoder for PLN10 (€2.3) a month, and those with HD receivers for PLN20 a month, with installation free in each case. New customers. On the other hand, can until March 5 obtain the 4K decoder, Platinum and Eleven package for PLN79 a month with a 24-month contract. The one-off activation fee is PLN59.90.
