Spacecom plans to launch its next satellite in a window between May 20 and June 19, the company has confirmed.
Its preference is for the week beginning May 27, when Elon Musk’s SpaceX is slated to launch the craft.
The Boeing-built Amos 17 is a replacement for Amos 6, which was destroyed in a launchpad accident in September 2016 two days before it was due to take-off from Cape Canaveral.
Amos 17 will operate from 17 degrees East and is designed to expand Spacecom’s coverage of the growing satellite service markets in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
It will offer Ka-band, Ku-band, and C-Band services.
