Independent cinema has become the latest area of focus for OTT platform PlutoTV.
With the award season underway, Pluto is launching PlutoTV Indies as a new home for festival circuit highlights and arthouse gems.
The channel launched at the beginning of February and joins an already existing line-up of dedicated curated film channels such as Pluto TV Movies and Pluto TV Romance as well as the branded channel The Asylum in the UK.
The operator says the channels are a key part of the identity of its US service.
New channel Pluto TV Indies joins the existing Pluto TV Movies on the UK offering and brings the dedication to high-quality film content to Europe.
The initial offer includes award winners and festival darlings such as 2014 Berlinale Competition Selection Two Men in Town, directed by Rachid Bouchareb, starring Forest Whitaker and Harvey Keitel as well as 2007 Berlinale Panorama Selection Fay Grim, directed by Hal Hartley, starring Parker Posey and Jeff Goldblum.
