Russia’s leading OTT service ivi saw its revenues grow by 62% in 2018.
ComNews reports that they amounted to R3.94 billion (€53 million), which was higher than the market average.
At the same time, ivi’s market share grew from 32% in 2017 to 36% last year.
Significantly, ivi continued to see growth in its revenues from the ‘paid’ as opposed to advertising, model.
Paid revenues grew by 87% in 2018 to R2.75 billion and accounted for 70% of total income, up from 60% in 2017.
The monthly paying audience has doubled and stood at 1.2 million in December 2018.
Ivi signed strategic deals with several Hollywood studios in 2018 and currently has over 80,000 pieces of content in its library.
