Slovenska produkcna, the owner Slovak national commercial broadcaster Joj, has agreed to buy 100% of the Czech thematic channel company Ceskoslovenskou filmovou spolecnost for an undisclosed fee.
According to local reports in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, the deal still requires the approval of the Czech regulator RRTV.
The Czech company’s portfolio includes CS film, CS mini, Horor film, War TV, Kinosvet and the video portal Film popular.
Meanwhile, Joj Group encompasses the thematic channels Joj, Plus, Wau, RiK, Tuki, Joj Cinema and Joj Family, along with 20 internet portals.
Broadband TV News notes that Joj Group already has a presence in the Czech Republic and the deal serves to further underline the already close connection between the two countries’ TV industries.
