Inea launches new TV platform

February 12, 2019 09.42 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Polish cable operator Inea has launched a new TV platform in cooperation with ADB.

Employing the Hiway brand, it includes a new and compact 4K set-top box that gives access to linear channels, YouTube applications and a rich VOD library. The box also has the ability to wirelessly connect to the internet.

According to Inea, Hiway is available to all people within the reach of the operator’s fibre network. It also says that it will soon also announce further developments of the platform, including applications available on the device and the possibility of accessing TV on mobile devices.

In addition, Inea says it has introduced several other changes to its offer. It now provides customers with only two internet speeds – 1Gbps and 10Gbps for PLN69.90 (€16.20) and PLN199.90 a month respectively. Previously, these cost PLN109.90 and PLN399.90 respectively.

Inea has also changed the price of its TV packages. The two basic ones now cost PLN40 (105 channels) and PLN60 (160 channels) a month, with both containing FunBox in 4K. In addition, it has introduced the thematic package Movie Pack, which includes such channels as AMC, Bolywood, Romance TV, CBS action and Epic Drama.

Commenting on these changes, Michal Bartowiak, COO of Inea, said: “I have no doubt that our offer sets a new direction on the market. I also hope that it will be appreciated by customers. Our intention is to offer users the highest possible parameters in the internet service and to provide them with television entertainment in the most modern dimension”.

Inea is one of the top five cable operators in Poland and the leading one in the Wielkopolska region in the west of the country.
