The Russian DTH operator Tricolor TV has launched a proprietary film comedy channel.
Known simply as ‘Comedy’ in Russian, it includes both classic comedies from the 1980s and new ones, some from such large film studios as Paramount and Sony.
The channel is aimed at men and women aged 18+ and the humour it contains described as “on the verge”.
Tricolor TV, which is Russia’s leading pay-TV provider in terms of subscriber numbers, already has 11 proprietary film channels in its portfolio.
Comedy has replaced Film Screening HD-2 and is available in the European part of Russia and Siberia in the packages United, Extra and Single Ultra HD in HD.
It can also be received in SD.
