Gazprom Media has decided to become part of the upcoming Russian OTT service Vitrina TV.
Kommersant reports that it will become a co-founder in Q1 this year, buying a 25% stake currently held by CTC Media.
The latter will continue to be represented in the project by National Media Group (NMG), which has controlled the former MTG-owned broadcaster since late last year.
The Vitrina TV project is also back by Channel One and VGTRK, the other main players in Russia’s TV industry.
Vitrina TV was established by NMG in 2017, with Channel One, VGTRK and CTC Media then buying 25% from it the following year.
