The Latvian incumbent Lattelecom has stopped retransmitting the channel Rossiya RTR on its Helio interactive TV and Helio terrestrial TV services.
In a statement, it says that this is due to the temporary suspension of the channel by the regulator NEPLP, as previously reported by Broadband TV News.
It adds that it has replaced Rossiya RTR with another Russian service – the Fifth Channel – that offers viewers information and entertainment-based programming.
At the same time, Lattelecom has also dropped three movie channels – Kinomediya, Kuhnya and Rodnoya – from the Helio iTV Russian thematic package.
This is due to low viewing figures and the expiry of the contract for their retransmission rights.
